EU Trade negotiations with Colombia and Peru
The Executive Committee of the European Trade Union Confederation expresses its outrage at the continued killings of trade unionists in Colombia where at least ten trade unionists were assassinated over the last eight weeks. It reiterates its opposition to ongoing negotiations between the European Union and the governments of Colombia and Peru aimed at concluding bilateral trade agreements. More
WTO on the wrong path
Prior to the WTO-negotiations in Hong Kong December 2005, 27 organisations, including national trade unions, all important peasant and rural organisations, and a number of other organisations, signed a common statement. Combined, these organisations represent more than 700.000 members, and the letter represents an important break-through in the building of a broad WTO-critical coalition in Norway.
